Belize Traffic Department
The Department:
The main responsibility of the traffic department is to reduce traffic congestion in the City. Other responsibilities include: registering and licensing of motor vehicles; issuing of General Dealers License, Belize City Drivers License, Learning Permits, Temporary Operating Permits and General Street Use Permits; administering written and practical testing for Drivers Licenses; inspection of Motor Vehicles; issuing and processing of violation tickets; compiling records and statistics; traffic law enforcement and safety within the city; installing and maintaining traffic signs; road marking and street channelization; and maintaining traffic control devices.
